Advantages for research

Clinical studies

MHS has been working for contract research institutes, the so-called CROs, which have been involved in scientific drug research for many years. We have experience in the various specialist areas (e.g. rare diseases, dermatology, neurology, pneumology etc.).

The tasks specified for the Home Care Nurse in the study protocol include, for example, blood sampling, sample processing, pulmonary function test, medical history, vital signs control, subcutaneous injections, intravenous therapies etc., as well as their detailed documentation.

Experience has shown that home visits increase the willingness of patients or subjects to participate in a study. The patient does not invest travel time to the centre and back home and is not exposed to possible waiting times or nosocomial germs.

The Home Care Nurse has the time to concentrate on the task assigned to her during her stay with the patient; in everyday clinical practice, this is often made more difficult by the diverse tasks of the study staff.

Patient Support Program

With the »Patient Support Program« (PSP) patients are cared for in order to scientifically research their needs in connection with the therapy and to support the long-term therapy with the knowledge gained. As a rule, the knowledge gained from a PSP increases adherence to therapy, i.e. the willingness of the patient to take his medication regularly and correctly. A PSP is carried out in close cooperation between MHS and the treating physicians.

Pharmacovigilance

For patient safety, MHS systematically collects data of already approved drugs to improve the detection of potential undesirable side effects and interactions.
The findings of the pharmacovigilance are also reflected in the package insert for medicinal products. It is therefore all the more important that many patients agree to participate in the pseudonymized collection of health data.
